OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM NEEDS SOME CHANGES...!!!!

What needs to BE changed in the Spanish education system today?( BY ISABEL G.)

I am going to write about the topic of the change in the education system. The Spanish education system should have changed long ago. What are the main shortcomings of the educational system? Regarding some of these shortcomings are: school failure rates and youth unemployment, functional illiteracy figures, and an inability to keep students excited about their own learning.

Therefore, to change the Spanish educational system by involving parents more in teaching and reinforcing teachers by giving them more autonomy. Also committing to creativity and meaningful learning, reducing student-teacher ratios instead of increasing them and giving a boost to education focused on individual needs.  Especially in Spain, memorization is prioritized over understanding and reasoning.

In spite of this,  we should try to promote better education. Student´s have to go to school to learn, not to waste time. Parents must collaborate in teaching their children. Teachers must not forget their obligations. The government should not leave education behind and try to promote high quality for it. In conclusion, we are all important to improve the education of children and adolescents in our country. Don´t forget that if we do not advance, those who lose are the students.

LEISURE HAS ALSO CHANGED WITH COVID 19

Leisure time nowadays. How much has it changed? Covid 19 has transformed everything.

I'm writing about leisure time and hobbies. It's a very important topic because these activities are essential to disconnect from work. In addition, it has changed in recent months for the global pandemic.

Firstly , we need to write about the most famous hobbies in our country. Culturally, we´ve always liked travelling around the world, eating out in restaurants and gastropubs, going to the cinemas and theatres, dancing in nightclubs and pubs, doing outdoor sports... Secondly, I want to add something about the special situation we're living in now. It's better but we don´t travel and restaurants and nightclubs are closed. On the one hand, there exist these restrictions and a lot of unemployment. BESIDES, on the other hand, many people are discovering other types of leisure at home, slow activities: watching series and movies, seeing friends and family through video callS, playing video games, reading a lot of interesting books and magazines and cooking delicious recipes at home.

In my opinion, we must mix both types because all the activities bring us something POSITIVE.. Experts say that it is necessary to disconnect.

LIFE IN 2050 !!!!

LIFE IN 2050 (BY FERNANDO GARCIA)

As far as we can see these days, the world has had lots of advances as compared to 30 years earlier. Moreover, thanks to computers and other electronic equipment, this development is taking place even more and more quickly.

In my opinion, in 30 years’ time there will be quite a more population than there is nowadays. However, a higher number of wealthy countries will exist over the planet and therefore, people who will live in them will be healthier.  Petrol vehicles will completely have disappeared and so making way for cleaner electric vehicles. As a result, there will be a little bit less pollution on Earth, but unfortunately, there will be an important climate change because it won’t stop increasing from today. Computers and all tech devices will be even smaller and faster and it won’t be necessary to use cables to connect them, so all connections will be made by air.

All in all, in general life in 2050 will be better than now, although the weather will become more extreme and damaging with more intense storms, colder, hotter and BRINGING more natural disasters.

WOULD YOU LIVE IN A SMART HOUSE ??

Would you live in a smart house?

(BY Eugenia G.)

Although we could think that it is from the future (in fact, we have seen it in a lot of science-fiction films), it is a reality now. Smart houses existed for some years ago and they will be existing, more evolved, in the future.  But, what is, really, a smart house and in which way it could improve our quality of life?

In the first way, a smart house is a house managed by a home automation, that is to say, a system capable of automating a house or building of any type and which provides energy management, security, welfare and communication services. It could be defined as the integration of technology into the intelligent design of a building. If we think ABOUT  that meaning, we could say that a smart house could solve our domestic problems, like how to regulate the temperature or how to avoid a robbery when we’re not home. However, by now, smart houses can’t make more than this. In 20 years, maybe, they will have evolved to make the shopping when the fridge is empty or to call a technician when the tv doesn’t work.

In my opinion, smart houses can help us in our daily lives, so we don’t have to think about certain details. However, I am still afraid of having to rely so heavily on technologies.

CHILDREN NEED YOUR HELP

CHILDREN NEED YOUR HELP (by M. Chueca)

In my opinión, the world is increasingly uneven and we all have to help each other. There are a lot of NGOs that   and fight for different causes. In Aragon there is an association called ASPANOA.

ASPANOA was founded in 1988 and cares for children with cancer in Aragon, supports their families and promotes research against childhood cancer in Aragon. At the Miguel Servetr Hospital the children have a lot of  services and activities such as musician therapy, physiotherapy, two games rooms, free televisión and play stations, among others. Therefore, all weeks,  volunteers go to the hospital and play with the children. ASPANOA organizes different fundraising events like “Let's score a goal for caáncer” where it collects 20% of its income.

I recommend that we  show solidarity with the cause because the children need our help and they deserve to be happy and have a long life to enjoy. A little help from us can make a big difference for them.

LIFE HAS CHANGED SINCE THE 70s

Family life in the 70s was different. The main reason is that women didn´t work OUT OF home, so they took care of children and in a lot of cases, to theirparents or their parents in law, and their homes, of course.

On the other hand, children played in the street, parks… with their friends or their neighboUrs. Now, it has changed, because -- women start workING in thecompanies or their OWN business, and they haven´t so much time like before to take care of the family.BESIDES, In the Summer, families went to the village with the grandparents and the holidays was vastly different. Now, people  look for exotic places , orthe holidays are in the Winter and the families go  skiing.

MOREOVER, The technology advance is influential in changing life, too. Actually, few people still haven´t got a  mobile, it means that we are CONSTANTLY  connected  and located. So,people have less need to meet with some persons.

In general, you can say that there WAS more family life home fifty years ago than now, because there WAS more time and economical level life was less demanding and with one salary was enough. In 2020, IT is necessary that the family has two salaries SO THAT THEY can pay FOR all costs.
