CHILDREN HAVE FRUIT FROM THE ARAGONESE GOVERNMENT (BY SUSANA- ADM )

GOVERNMENT OF ARAGÓN BRINGS SNACK to SCHOOLS.

About 100.000 Aragonese students lunch fruit in the school at least one day a week , one day a week, thanks to a plan of distribution promoted by the government of Aragon. The project has been implemented this year and it is reaching primary and secondary schools. The first week mandarins and oranges were distributed, and apples this week.

The plan, with a budget of 688.000 euros, it will be financed to 75% for European Union and the rest for Autonomous Community and Agriculture, Environment and Food Department.

In some schools the fruit  got to all students, but in other schools, it will  get only to some of the classes. In total, they want to distribute about 275.000 kilos of fruit until 11th June.

The Government of Aragon designs calendar of fruit, bearing in mind seasonal products and gives priority to local fruits or national origin. This week, it’s the apples turn. And then the boys will have also pears, bananas, oranges, cherries, plums and apricots.
