WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN A JOB???

WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN A JOB??? (by Eva B.C.)

First of all, nowadays if you have a job you will be lucky. Then, you can answer this question.

From my point of view, you WILL BE  happy if you love your job. A lot of people spend eight hours a day in a job which they don’t like. It’s a pity but in our advanced world a job is a necessity, and we need to work although you don’t like it. Apart from that, in my personal opinion, having  good coworkers is a very important thing, because I value teamwork. Moreover, a good boss who knows HOW TO LEAD the company or a team, with charisma, empathy and personal abilities is  pretty important too. Finally, I highly value having a job near my house.

It seems to me that sometimes we can contribute to love our job by thinking positive things about what's in it.

ARISTOTLE IN BTO !!

NOT MANY PEOPLE LIKES PHILOSOPHY , HOWEVER, OUR BTO STUDENTS HAVE THE OPTION OF CHOOSING IT IN BTO. IT IS NOT COMPULSORY ANY MORE.

AND OF COURSE, THEY LOVE THEIR LESSONS WITH THE TEACHER J.L. RODRIGUEZ, WHO MAKES THEM THINK, REFLECT,. ARGUMENT AND CONCLUDE.

I HAD THE CHANCE TO WATCH THEM WHILE DOING THE GLOBAL EXAM AND I DECIDED TO TRANSLATE THE TEXT BY ARISTOTLE. HAVE A LOOK. YOU MAY LIKE IT.

ETHICS TO NICOMACO

Having then two virtue ways, one of understanding and one of our habits, the first one was born from the doctrine and it grows with the doctrine, therefore, it needs time and experience; however, moral comes from habits, from which it acquired its name, almost deriving from this Greek name: Ethos which means habit in that language.

All in all , we guess that none of the moral virtues is in us naturally, because no thing from from the ones which are in a determined way naturally, can by habit become any different: Take the example of a stone, which naturally goes down and will never get used to going up by itself even if we try hard to get her used to it, by throwing it up  for a thousand times; nor fire will get used to going down by itself; neither any other thing that is usually naturally made will get used to acting in a different way. Therefore, virtues are not in us naturally or unnaturally but rather on the contrary, we are naturally apt to acquire them and by habits we confirm them later on.

Besides, in everything that comes to us naturally, we receive their features or potential and then we cause the effects, as it is clearly seen in our senses. It is not because of seeing and hearing many times that we acquired the use of them, or even the fact of having them. However, we obtain virtues by ‘doing’ , as in the other arts.

** ONTOLOGY:

Ontology is the branch of philosophy that studies concepts such as existence, being, becoming, and reality. It includes the questions of how entities are grouped into basic categories and which of these entities exist on the most fundamental level. Ontology is sometimes referred to as the science of being and belongs to the major branch of philosophy known as metaphysics.

RENEWABLE ENERGIES

RENEWABLE ENERGIES ( by Juan Antonio)

The renewable energies represent a clear saw into the future of the human being. NowadayS , climate change is the one concern of most of us. In this way, renewable energy could be a mighty tool to stand up and decrease the frightening effects of the change.

On the one hand, it is mandatory to explain that four types of renewable energy generation systems produce zero emissions of C02 to the atmosphere, these systems convert the  endless natural resources, like the flow of water or wind, the solar radiation or even the thermal energy inside the earth to generate electrical power. On the other hand, we have to pay attention that it is not possible to manage an electrical grid, completely based on renewable energy. That's due to the temporary unavailability of the natural resources, for example, lack of water during droughts or absence of wind in summer.

Despite the dependence on carbon-based generation systems, In my opinion  a good balance between renewals and conventional generation could be the key to open a new scenario in the fight against climate change. If we need new concepts of energy systems to reverse the change, renewable energy is the smartest technology we own nowadays.

HOW TO REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

Ten steps to reduce the carbon footprint. (by J.A.T )

The text shows us how we could contribute to reduce the carbon footprint in ten steps. For example, in our own houses we can use low consumption bulbs, or install solar panels to generate extra energy or heat water.

Furthermore, the text suggests us to use public transport despite private cars, but if you need to use your own car, the text aDviceS to drive at lower speeds to be more fuel efficient.

In the last term, the text explains that buying local farmed products reduces the footprint generated during the transport of the goods to conventional supermarkets and reduces the plastic waste of the packaging.

DOUBLE EFFORT FOR TEACHING IN THIS PANDEMIC !!

DOUBLE EFFORT FOR TEACHING IN THIS PANDEMIC !!

PEOPLE MAY THINK IT HAS BEEN EASY FOR TEACHER TO SYNCHRONIZE EVERYTHING DURING THE PANDEMIC.

THERE WAS A LOT MORE TO DO: DESIGNING TASKS, COORDINATING ALL THE STUDENTS AND COLLEAGUES, TOGETHER WITH PARENTS ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY, RESOURCES, DATES, ETC..... IT WAS REALLY HARD...!!

ALL IN ALL, WE MANAGED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER: WE HAD TO LEARN, ALL THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY,  SO, THANKS TO ALL THE TEACHERS FOR THEIR EFFORTS AND THEIR LOVE TO 'TEACHING' AND 'DEALING WITH PROBLEMS'.

AS IT IS SAID "THERE IS STILL A DIGITAL DIVIDE IN EDUCATION". WE LEARN ON THE RUN AND WE LEARN FROM MISTAKES.

OUR LANGUAGE IN ARAGON: ARAGONESE

AT SCHOOL, WE HAVE A BOARD FOR INTERESTING THINGS AND ONE OF THEM IS TRYING TO LEARN A BIT OF ARAGONESE (FABLA)

SO, EVERY WEEK, OUR COLLEAGUES, FERNANDO ROMANOS AND RICARDO CERVERA ARE IN CHARGE OF GIVING US PIECES OF INFORMATION WITH SOME VOCABULARY IN ARAGONESE. THANKS TO THEM FROM OUR BLOG !!!

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE WITH PLANTS THIS WEEK.

THE LAST FILM I SAW

 THE LAST FILM I SAW

Dear Beatriz,

It’s great to hear from you after so long! How are you doing? I hope that everything is well with you

and your family. By the way, happy birthday, I remembered it a few days ago. I’m going to send you a gift next week.  On the other hand, I’m writing to you, for recommending a film which I saw yesterday night.

His name is “Resident Evil'', it’s based in a popular video game. It’s an action thriller. Also, the plot described how to start the distribution of a dangerous virus which can infect humans and turn them into zombies. It is set in Raccoon City, where the zombies are looking for survivors who can eat. Anyway, this film has a nice special effect, it seems so real, especially if you are watching it at night with the lights off. Next month when we meet again, we could watch the second part, it has at least four more films.

To sum up, it’s a good film and to my mind, IT  is really worth it. If you watch it, you will not regret it.

Drop me a line as soon as you read this mail and let me know if you have seen this film in fact, I would like that you recommend me another movie you like.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN A JOB

The most important thing in a job for me ( By Ana G.L.)

Firstly, having a job is one of the most important things in the person’s life, because having a job is having independence and autonomy if you earn a normal salary.

On the one hand, I don´t understand my life without working, but on the other hand, working out of home is difficult to take care of the family. For me, there are many important things in a job, for example, working with nice people, having a good boss, earning a good salary, having good working hours, having the confidence of my boss in my job and having a permanent contract. So, I will say that I am very happy in my job because I have all of the things that I want. However, for young people it is very difficult to find a good job with an permanent contract and it is very difficult to make plans for the future.

IN CONCLUSION, My generation was lucky because if you studied at the University, you had many possibilities to have a good job, but this generation HASN’T !! What a pity!

ARE YOU A VILLAGE MOUSE OR A CITY RAT??

ARE YOU A VILLAGE MOUSE OR A CITY RAT? (by Mirian Chueca)

Living in the city is very different from living in a village. Many people question which option is better but, is there much difference between cities and villages?

On the one hand, if you live in a city you have a lot of shops, places to spend time, SEE many people and more business places to work than in a village. Nevertheless, in a city there are a lot of noises, pollution and distances are long. On the other hand, if you live in a village it has lots of nature, you know the people better and you feel calm and free. Although there isn't cinema and shops and sometimes you can get bored. City isn´t better than village and village isn´t better than city, it is simply a matter of taste.

In my opinion, the best option is to combine both because you enjoy the advantages of the city and the village. In my case, I live in Zaragoza and at the weekend I go to my village.

ADVANTAGES OF LIVING IN SPAIN

CONVINCING A FRIEND ( BY SARA S.)

 Dear Carol,

It's great to hear from you after so long! How are you doing? After living in London for five years, now I´m so excited to live in Spain again. I would like to explain to you what my life has changed, maybe if I convince you, you would like to come with me to Zaragoza.

Firstly, the climate and the weather are much more pleasant than IN  London except when it is windy and cold, this is a disadvantage. But, in general the weather is hotter than IN London, for example in Zaragoza we have about ten hours more or less of sunshine. It's very nice to walk without AN umbrella. Secondly, IT  is the healthy food. I love Spanish food like paella, croquettes, ham…It´s delicious.  Although, I´m very happy with my new job, a lot of information was shown during the first month so I'm learning a lot and I have much more responsibility. Unfortunately, salaries are much lower in Spain than in the United Kingdom.

In conclusion, why don´t we organize a visit next summer? We could organize a route and visit different cities. What do you think of this plan?

Best wishes,

Sara

TELEWORKING

WORKING AT HOME  (by Ana Gomez Latorre)

Firstly, I like working in my office, but since the pandemic started I have been working at home.

On the one hand, It is more confortable to work at home because I don't have to go out, dress or make up. On the other hand, I like speaking with my partners and my boss and having a coffee with them.

All in all, at this moment, I think working in my house is safer, but when the pandemic finised I will go to work in my office. It's more funny!

HEALTH SERVICE ???

OUR HEALTH CAN BE IMPROVED  (by S.B)

It is quite clear that everybody needs to be healthy and it is one of the human rights that all the world should have. In Spain the National Health Service is a public and universal service, besides it is free for Spanish residents, although private health care is becoming more frequent.

First of all, nowadays older people are assisted by their general practitioner more frequently, because of all kinds of chronic illnesses, such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease or chest infection. There is a reason why we usually have to wait for aN appointment. Moreover, there are many young people who have accidents because of adventure sports. Secondly, privatethe private health care seems to offer more personal attention because of comfortable accommodation, safety and privacy although if you don't have too much money for a monthly payment when you are getting sick, it's difficult to be helped quickly. In many aspects, I entirely agree with the staff and system of the NHS, above all because of its speed when there is an urgency. For instance, immediately they send you an ambulance and they have got the most advanced technology. However, on the other hand, with the NHS you don't always see the same doctor or specialist in hospital and therefore,  you have to explain your health issues to various different doctors again.

In conclusion, I believe that there is nothing perfect and maybe if I have an accident or illness, I would like to be checked by a kind staff and a professional medical team.

LIFELONG LEARNING

MEDIATION: BENEFITS OF LIFELONG LEARNING ( by C. Barea)

According to this article about the benefits of lifelong learning, this kind of learning can make people happier and healthier.

Firstly, it says that just reading a few pages of a good book every day the stress level goes down quickly. Besides,in the same way, the article highlights that learning to play a musical instrument is like food for the brain as such activity puts all our senses into action. Nevertheless,-the article adds- if you don’t have time for these activities, learning something new is also possible in other ways, such as starting a new hobby or joining a gym. So, you can meet a lot of people with common interests.

In short, our brain is like our body: the more they do, the more they want to do.Both of them require continuous activities throughout our life so that we maintain constant happiness and well-being.

TECHNOLOGY?? YES, WITH RESTRICTIONS !!

TECHNOLOGY? YES,  WITH RESTRICTIONS ( BY IRENE OCTAVIO - 2 CIE)

Firstly,  (the) technology helps us with plenty of things like the invention of machines which make our lives easier. Furthermore, the creation of the internet that facilitates communications and ways to get information. However, is it an advantage or a disadvantage for our health?

The advantages of technology in health are that improve the ways to diagnose someone of an illness. Besides,  it created new treatments for diseases. Nevertheless,  the disadvantages are that as long as you use the electrical appliances in excess, it may be dangerous, ecause of the fact that it could turn out an addiction. Moreover,  it could damage our sight or if you always use the earphones in the maximum volume, your ears will be damaged. Moreover, social networks may worsen our mental health.

In conclusion,  nowadays,  it is difficult to imagine a world without advanced technology, d ue to the fact the technology is used in all aspects of our lives. Anyway,  if you abuse it, it will cause you problems or damages to your health.

VILLAGE MOUSE OR CITY RAT??

ARE YOU A VILLAGE MOUSE OR A CITY RAT?

Well I was born in a village and I lived there until my twelves then I moved to the city in order to study and go to the university. Now I live in a village although closer to the city than when I was a child.

In my opinión, when you are a child, living in a small village is the best, you can go out alone because it’s safer than the city. Moreover, everyone knows each other. Playing in the street with your friends is really enjoyable, cars hardly circulate and neighbours take care of yours.

Nevertheless, you can’t go to A secondary school in a small village. Then,  you have two options either you take a bus to go to the closer secondary school or you move to the city. Living in the city has advantages for young people because there are many entertainments such as cinema, museums, gyms and also a lot of shops.

All in all, I prefer living in a village but near to the city that way, I can enjoy the quietness  from a village and services from the city.

SHOULD EVERYONE HEAR OUR CONVERSATIONS???

Should everyone hear what you are saying?

( by Vero Bas from 2 bcss)

We live in a society that is used to doing it anywhere: on the bus, on the train, in restaurants and even in the movies. Moreover, talking on the mobile phone in public places has become part of our daily life, but I think that we should control our speech at all times, since we are not always in the right places or times.

There is no doubt nowadays, mobile phones play an important part in everyone's lives. Almost everyone on the Earth's population owns a mobile phone. They are compact, convenient and very useful to have around in an emergency. However, they aren’t only used for that reason, but we use them on a daily basis, to disconnect, to enjoy free time, to listen to music. In addition, mobile phones are used by us as work tools. But the point is that we listen to any conversation in a public place, and it's clear that the majority of these conversations are not urgent.

Of course, there are calls that are important and must be answered immediately. In such cases, why can't people go to a more private place to take the call? I do not think that the conversations that take place on the buses, for example, are so urgent that they cannot be answered with a message. I think there should be places where you can talk more openly without the need for everyone to hear, something like smoking areas.

In conclusion, the mobile phone is a great invention that has made our lives much easier, but in my opinion, calls should be more private. So, unless people use cell phones for emergencies, we will have to continue listening to people who speak very loudly on cell phones.

A.I. (By Desiree- adm3)

Firstly, I’m going to explain what A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is. The A.I. is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals, which involves consciousness and emotionality.

Now, I choose to talk about one specific theme, it is the micro-chip in our hands. All in the class said ‘the chip will control us’ but at present we are spied by the big enterprises and the government too. The technology is growing at times and if you don’t follow it, you won’t prosper in the new age.

Finally, I think that the technology is a part of our lives and in the present and future you will not to be able to live without a smartphone or a computer.

Sincerely, Accept it and live next to the technology.

PEOPLE RIGHTS MUST BE RESPECTED

 CONFERENCE

VIDEO CONFERENCE: THE NEW NORMAL ( by Irene Almenara from adm 3)

The video shows clear pólice abuse in peaceful demonstrations, but the order to act like this has never been given by anyone.

We have all seen, both on television and in the networks or newspapers, how a demonstration ended with several injured and detained, where they put the protesters as those who started the fight. But there are many peaceful demonstrations in which the police go directly to beat them, where they throw people to the ground, they kick and punch them once they are already immobilized, but that is not talked about, it is always the protesters who are the bad guys, the ONES WHO  act badLY. The problem is that someone has given the order for them to go like this, but that someone, you never know who it is for sure because they cover each other's backs. The strike is -- people's right, and as long as they are peaceful there is no need for the authorities to intervene.

In my opinion, I think it is a very clear abuse of power, in which senior officials send their subordinates to do their dirty work, and if they refuse, well, easy, we kick them out and that's it, and that's not right People have rights, and not only do they take away those rights, but often even life.
