THE THORNY DINOSAUR
The dinosaur discovered
in Argentina that had a fan of giant spines to defend itself.
The fossils of Bajadasaurus were found in 2013 by researchers
from the Félix de Azara Foundation and the Ernesto Bachmann Paleontological
Museum in Villa El Chocón in Neuquén.
Bajadasaurus was a new type of specie. It measured nine meters of length and
life in what is now Patagonia Argentina 140 million years ago.
They were herbivores and quadrupeds characterized by their
large size and the length of their neck and tail.
The scientists have discovered that it had thorns on top of
the vertebrae which sized 1,2 metres. The thorns were covered by a material
that gave them strength.
